Gaga was recently interviewed and asked about how she maintains her figure, the response was short and sweet, "Its all about starvation! Pop stars don't eat." Apparently this was a joke, hilarious isn't it.

Rehearsed reading date confirmed

Part of our new play development process is to have one or more rehearsed readings at draft stage. To date we have had one rehearsed reading of the first draft of 'Beautiful' for an invited audience including Susie Orbach.

As a result of the discussion and feedback that followed the reading, Rachel is currently writing a new draft, alongside working on 'Birdsong' and and another commission.

Because of the number of people who are interested in hearing the play as it develops, we have decided to hold a second rehearsed reading on June 21st . We are planning to have two readings , one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

Rachel's adaptation of Bird Song is set for the West end

Exciting news - Rachel's adaptation for stage of Sebastian Faulks' acclaimed novel 'BirdSong' is to open in the West End this autumn . The world premiere of this production is directed by Trevor Nunn.

'Birdsong' centres on Stephen Wraysford who, while staying as the guest of a factory owner in pre-war France, embarks on a passionate affair with Isabelle, the wife of his host. The affair changes them both forever.

A few years later Stephen finds himself back in the same part of France, but this time as a soldier at the Battle of the Somme, the bloodiest encounter in British military history. As his men die around him, Stephen turns to his enduring love for Isabelle for the strength to continue and to save something for future generations.

'Birdsong' has been adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff, who has previously adapted Faulks’ The Girl at the Lion d'Or for BBC Radio 4. Wagstaff’s other stage credits include Only the Brave and The Soldier.

Rachel is the author of 'Beautiful' our new production inspired by Susie Orbach's Bodies.
